Plot to defeat Sen. Lyda Green exposed..

Update April 17, 2008
Reliable sources report that Linda Menard has only registered as a Republican in March of this year! Wow, you just have to admire her commitment and dedication!

Update April 14, 2008
If you have come here via the link at the profanity laced Progressive Alaska blog, that's good, because there, you won't find the opening paragraph where I specifically stated that this 'theory' was purely speculative, and was omitted when Mr. Munger lifted the remainder of my post, which by deceptive intent, removed it from it's original context. As for the "drug user's comment, I was talking about Ms. Church's attempt to repeal MEA's drug testing by-law. I was not accusing Burchell or Kincaid of possibly failing that test as he falsely assumed.

Original post:
A possible plot to defeat Senator Lyda Green has been exposed by a big-mouthed liberal blogger. A Frontiersman article regarding School Board member Linda Menard's challenge to Senator Lyda Green's seat in the August 2008 Primary election has a new twist thanks to a blogger who has perhaps inadvertantly exposed the possibility that Mat-Su Assemblywoman Michelle Church is preparing to run for Senate on the Democratic ticket. Of course, this is pure speculation on my part, but I'm willing to bet on it.

From the Frontiersman blog:

Phil Munger wrote on Apr 10, 2008 7:15 AM:
http://www.frontiersman.com/articles/2008/04/08/local_news/doc47fb4de0e895c387853187.txt
"Linda Menard voted against out-sourcing the school custodial contracts. Good for her. The out-sourcing has been a DISASTER. The schools are a mess. Try to find a custodian? Good luck! Try to find a custodian who can speak English? Good luck, again! Try to find a custodian who is an American citizen? Even harder. I'm hoping Linda puts up a good fight, beats Lyda Babcock, and then loses to the Dem in November. We don't need a little change - we need a LOT. Go, Michelle!"

"Go, Michelle!"

What does that comment mean? In my opinion, it implies that Mr. Munger has knowledge that Mat-Su Assemblywoman Michelle Church is planning to run against the August Republican primary winner.

Fact: Gov. Palin dislikes real Republican Lyda Green.
Fact: Gov. Palin likes fake Republican Linda Menard
Fact: Gov. Palin will support fake Republican Menard in the Republican primary.

Scenario 1: Fake Republican Menard defeats Green, runs against Church. Citing a family crisis, fake Republican Menard drops out at last minute, handing seat to Church by default.

Scenario 2: Green beats fake Republican Menard. Palinbots, Menard's, Greenies, Lib's and drug user's (who want to run for MEA), all lend support to Church in attempt to beat Green. Green and Church battle it out in November and the Anti-Lyda crowd will play out the dirtiest campaign you will ever witness in your lifetime.

This is not paranoid, this is just knowing what Liberals will do to win. Deceive the voters to win at any cost. Just like they did against Proposition 1 and MEA.

Linda Menard's husband Curt pulled a fast one about 20 years ago by changing party affiliation at the last possible moment before the close of registration to run, betraying me and all other Mat-Valley republicans. I'm not excited about seeing his wife rising up to become involved in politics at the state level.

Dennis, I love that you think that you've discovered this secret plot to defeat Green. I love that you twisted one person using the phrase "Go Michelle" as an indication that Michelle Church and Linda Menard are secretly in cahoots to steal the election for a Democrat. Just because you dream up something doesn't mean that its now a plot you've exposed. For someone who likes to decry "liberal lies", you sure do have a dodgy relationship with truth in the titles of your articles.

How exactly is Lyda a "Real Republican"? Is she being a real Republican when she loads up the Capital and Supplemental budgets with pork like performing arts centers? And how is Sarah somehow a Liberal, or at least Not A Conservative when she vetoes the crap in the budget so that it reflects actual spending priorities instead of fluff for only a few communities? I thought real Republicans were fiscal conservatives, not people who go around saying "Well we've got the money, might as well spend it" like Lyda just did.

There are over 100 registered voters in Lyda Green's district who are named Michelle. More than 60 of them are Democrats, Non-Partisans, Undeclared, or Greens. How do you know he's talking about Church? You ARE being paranoid...you're spinning this elaborate "they're gonna steal the election" narrative and justifying it by saying that you think Liberals will do anything to win. You were NOT beaten in Prop. 1 because of liberals...you were beaten because the initiative you sponsored really was bad. You lost MEA not to the LIberals but to a Republican (but if course you would say she isn't REALLY a Republican because she doesn't agree with you. Just like the Governor.) Tell me, how is the woman who formed an alliance with the Democrats (Liberals) so she could be in power somehow more of a Conservative than half the people in the party she sold down the river?

You've discovered the plot. All of us progressives (which of course in your world is liberals) are getting together to figure out how to undo the one true, everlasting conservative empire. Our quest is to make everyone bow before a Andres Serreno image and pay homage. We've brainwashed Sarah Palin and now she is doing our bidding. Your last line of defense is Lyda Green who somehow is the leader of a coalition in which there are more of us than there are of her kind. Nonetheless, when Lyda is gone--through any of the scenarios outlined above--we shall take away your liberties and unleash the black helicopters to fly over your land without condition.

And people wonder why there aren't any good candidates.

Go Lyda Go!

Lyda betrayed us the moment she allied herself with the democrats and cut her own party out of power in the Senate. Her time has come and I sincerely hope she loses this upcoming election. I also hope she isn't crazy enough to bow out to Tuckerman Babcock like the rumors going around the Valley are saying. It's time for change.

Lyda committed political suicide by not allowing the two abortion bills to come to a vote. She alienated pretty much all the pro-life crowd. I believe she will lose the primary to Menard.

I agree that Menard is a RINO. But she will win the primary and probably the general for this one reason.

I don't believe she will pull out of the election.

This situation is pretty sick, but I blame it on Lyda for supporting a Dem Chairman instead of the unborn.

Check out the Ivan Moore Poll results for seat G (commissioned by MSEA).

Green 40%
Menard 50%
Babcock 9%

bye Lyda

Whew, I'd say there are some folks reading this blog that don't like Lyda. Too bad. She is a great lady.

I may not have this entirely correct, but if the current coalition wasn't in the senate there would be a Fairbanks/Kenai coalition without any regard to the needs of the Mat-Su.

this is one of those - becareful what you wish for. Lyda - keep going! Linda, you have done some good things for this Valley - stay here and enjoy doing what you ar doing.

Without Lyda, the Kenai / Fairbanks cabal would have stuck a fork in the Mat-Su Borough and left us to roast well done...
